Kevin Metka Receives Big 10 Medal of Honor
Congratulations to Kevin Metka for winning the Big 10 Medal of Honor. This is the conference’s most exclusive award and recognizes academic and athletic excellence. Only 28 athletes earn this award each year.
Metka, a graduate of Worthington Kilbourne is majoring in Engineering and is a 2 time ITA Scholar Athlete. He is one of 12 Buckeyes to ever win 100 Doubles Matches. He is currently ranked #4 in the Nation in Doubles with Ralf Steinbach. Last year Kevin competed in the closest NCAA Doubles Final of all time. In addition to this, Kevin’s accomplishments at Ohio State include:
- Three time Academic All Big Ten honoree
- Five time Ohio State Scholar-Athlete
- 2014 2nd Team All Big 10
- 2014 ITA Doubles All American
- 2014 ITA All Tournament Team at 5 singles and 1 Doubles
- 2013 ITA National Indoor Doubles Consolation Champ
- Clinched 2 wins in Singles on ITA Indoor National Championship Team
- Clinched win versus Florida saving match points on 2014 NCAA Quarterfinalist Team
- NCAA All Tournament Team in Doubles
- 56-17 record in Singles, 104-19 record in doubles
